Joseph Aloba, father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has compared the controversy surrounding his son’s burial with the ongoing disagreement between the family of late gospel musician Toluwanisings and his widow, Elizabeth Olayemi.
Aloba reportedly questioned the criticism directed at Toluwanisings’ family over its position on his burial, drawing parallels with the reactions his own family faced after Mohbad’s death.

He also raised questions about the living conditions of members of the late gospel singer’s family, alleging that Toluwanisings’ mother-in-law lived in a comfortable house equipped with air conditioning, while his father reportedly occupied a room with an annual rent of ₦35,000.
Aloba’s comments come amid a dispute over where Toluwanisings should be buried.
Toluwanisings’ family case
Reports indicate that his widow, Elizabeth Olayemi, prefers a cemetery burial rather than having her late husband laid to rest at the house he built. However, members of his family reportedly oppose her preference.
The disagreement has drawn public attention, with the parties holding different positions on the burial arrangements, while Aloba’s intervention has brought renewed comparisons with the controversy that followed Mohbad’s death.
