Nigerian actor and skit maker Akinyoola Ayoola, popularly known as Kamo State, has recorded a box office milestone with his debut cinema production, Starlomo, which has grossed ₦92.7 million.

Film distributor FilmOne Entertainment announced the figure in an Instagram post on Monday, describing the film’s performance as an impressive achievement and urging audiences to see it in cinemas nationwide.

“Indeed, a STAR was born! STARLOMO has grossed an impressive ₦92.7 million at the box office, and the love keeps shining!” the distributor wrote.

The announcement marks a new milestone in Kamo State’s entertainment career, following his rise to prominence through comedy skits and acting.

Starlomo premiered in Lagos on September 20, 2026, before opening in cinemas across the country on September 25. The film was directed by Kayode Kasum and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment.

The drama follows Ayotide, a young man who abandons his family’s food business to pursue a career in music in Lagos.

After struggling to establish himself in the city, he returns home following the murder of his parents, only to discover that they were once celebrated Fuji musicians whose musical legacy had been stolen.

He subsequently turns to their old recordings to create music and reclaim his family’s name.

The film features Kamo State alongside Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Chatta, Lateef Adedimeji, Mike Afolarin, KieKie, Iyabo Ojo, Abiola Adebayo and Koyin Sanusi, among others.

Kamo State co-produced the project with Muyiwa Idowu and Barbara Babarinsa, marking his first major cinema production.
