A suspected serial burglar has been arrested in Ibadan with house cables and other stolen valuables estimated at ₦3 million, following reports of repeated break-ins in the Ejiooku/Iyana Offa area of the city.

The suspect, identified as Nasiru Abiodun, was apprehended on Saturday, October 31, 2026, after residents of Oyewole Zone 2, Ile-Igbon, raised concerns over multiple cases of burglary and stealing in the neighbourhood.

The Oyo State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, saying the arrest followed a report received by the Maku Base of the command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU).

According to the statement, operatives traced the suspect to a residential apartment, where he was arrested with a sack containing house cables and other valuable items.

The recovered property was estimated to be worth ₦3 million.

The command said the suspect was being linked to multiple cases of burglary and stealing within the Ejiooku/Iyana Offa area.
