Oyo State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Ayobami Oluwaseun Ojo, has stepped down from Governor Seyi Makinde’s cabinet.

Ojo communicated his decision in a resignation letter dated November 2, 2026, and addressed to the governor through the Secretary to the State Government.

The commissioner stated that his resignation would take effect immediately, formally relinquishing his appointment with effect from Monday, November 2.

While he did not disclose the reason for his decision, Ojo thanked Makinde for the opportunity to serve in his administration and contribute to the affairs of the state.

He described his appointment as a privilege and said serving the government and people of Oyo State had been a great honour.

“I want to express my sincere appreciation for the opportunity to serve our dear State under the administration of Your Excellency. Serving the Government and the good people of Oyo State has been a great honour that I do not take lightly,” he stated.

Ojo also conveyed his highest regards to the governor as he formally brought his tenure in the cabinet to an end.

His exit comes amid other recent resignations involving political appointees in the Makinde administration, including that of Simeon Adegbola Oyeleke, the former Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning.
