The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State has insisted that Governor Hope Uzodimma remains its candidate for the Imo West Senatorial District in the 2027 elections, despite a Federal High Court ruling recognising former governor Rochas Okorocha as the party’s candidate.
Uzodimma Secured Ticket Through Primary — APC
The party said Uzodimma secured its ticket through the primary election, dismissing reports that he had lost the nomination as unverified claims circulating on social media.
In a statement issued on Thursday, October 29, the APC State Publicity Secretary, Onwuasoanya FCC Jones, maintained that the party had not withdrawn its support for the governor’s senatorial ambition.

However, the party acknowledged the court ruling, saying its legal team would review the judgment and determine the appropriate steps to take.
The development comes amid a dispute over who will represent the APC in the contest for the Imo West senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party urged its members and supporters to remain focused on preparations for the elections and avoid distractions arising from the controversy.
