Shooting Stars ended their 336-day wait for an away draw in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) after battling to a 2-2 stalemate against Ikorodu City in Sunday’s South-West derby in Lagos.
The Ibadan-based club earned their first away point of the campaign in the Matchday 10 encounter at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, having last drawn on the road on November 23, 2025, when they played out a goalless result against Kwara United in Ilorin.
The Oluyole Warriors looked set for a memorable away victory after taking a two-goal lead in the first half.

Taofeek Otaniyi opened the scoring in the third minute before centre-back Desmond Ojietefian extended Shooting Stars’ advantage in the 36th minute.
But Ikorodu City, popularly known as the Oga Boys, refused to surrender on home soil, with Donald Obiajulu reducing the deficit in the 44th minute to keep the hosts in contention before the break.
Shooting Stars’ late equalizer
The hosts intensified their search for an equaliser after half-time, eventually drawing level in the 87th minute when Obiajulu completed his brace.
The late goal denied Shooting Stars all three points but secured them a share of the spoils and ended their lengthy wait for an away draw.
The 2-2 result saw both South-West rivals settle for a point, with Shooting Stars recording their first away point of the current NPFL campaign.
