The South West derby takes centre stage today Sunday as Ikorodu City host Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan in an NPFL Matchday 10 encounter scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.
The Oga Boys will be looking to maintain their dominance over the Oluyole Warriors, who have suffered defeats on their last two visits to the Mobolaji Johnson Arena to face Ikorodu City.
Interestingly, Shooting Stars had a familiar face in the dugout during one of those encounters, with Nurudeen Aweroro, a former Ikorodu City coach, leading the Oluyole Warriors. However, his familiarity with the opposition did not prevent another defeat.
Ikorodu City Vs 3SC
Ikorodu City have demonstrated resilience at home this season, dropping points only once in their home fixture against Barau FC. Their impressive home form will give them confidence as they prepare for another crucial test against their South West rivals.
On the other hand, Shooting Stars will be desperate to turn their away fortunes around after failing to pick up a point in their last four away matches in the NPFL this season.
With Bright Ozebagbe in charge of Ikorodu City and the newly appointed Salisu Yusuf leading Shooting Stars, the encounter promises an intriguing tactical battle between two sides with different objectives.
Can Bright Ozebagbe guide the Oga Boys to extend their dominance over the Oluyole Warriors, or will Salisu Yusuf inspire Shooting Stars to end their disappointing run at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena?
All eyes will be on Lagos this afternoon as the two South West rivals battle for bragging rights and valuable league points.
