Why Liverpool Axed Arne Slot
After surprisingly winning the Premier League title in his debut season, Slot’s team suffered a dramatic drop-off, losing 20 matches across the 2025–26 campaign.
The Reds barely managed to salvage a 5th-place finish, securing Champions League qualification on the final day with a 1–1 draw against Brentford.
Mounting pressure from the board, disappointing tactical progress, and a crumbling squad identity forced Fenway Sports Group (FSG) to take immediate action.
