The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has called for justice over the reported killing of a party member, Khalid Adeyemo, popularly known as Paul Moor, while pledging continued support for his pregnant widow.
Alli made the call on Monday during a condolence visit to the deceased’s family in Ward 06, Ibadan South-West Local Government Area.
Moor was reportedly killed last Friday in an incident involving hoodlums allegedly associated with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
The senator, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District, described the incident as a painful and unacceptable loss, saying the deceased was a young man whose life held great promise.
He urged security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend the suspected killer or killers and ensure that anyone found culpable was brought to justice.
Alli also called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing, insisting that the bereaved family deserved justice and assurance that the matter would not be swept under the carpet.
During the visit, the APC governorship candidate provided financial assistance to the deceased’s pregnant wife and mother, while pledging continued support for the widow.
He further assured the family that he would work towards ensuring that the widow received adequate care and support after childbirth.
The APC chairman in Oyo State, Chief Moses Adeyemo, who was part of the visit, urged the family to draw strength from their faith as they mourned their loss.
Adeyemo prayed for God to comfort the family, strengthen them through the difficult period and grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
