The Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, is set to confer the chieftaincy title of Okanlomo of Yorubaland on Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.
The chieftaincy ceremony is scheduled to hold on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the historic Alaafin’s Palace in Oyo.
Sources close to the palace describe the honour as a recognition of Seyi Tinubu’s growing influence, philanthropic gestures, and contributions to youth empowerment across the southwest region.
The event is expected to attract top traditional rulers, political leaders, business moguls, and dignitaries from within and outside Nigeria, marking a significant moment in the evolving role of the younger generation in Yoruba leadership circles.
Further details about the programme and official statement from the palace are expected in the coming days.
